The start of a new Wood robot project

I had been thinking about building a new robot for a while, but had a hard time choosing a design I was satisfied with. in the end I choose an old tag that I used for a short period, it's a very basic "Lego" type robot that was called ONT.

I made a more detailed "3D style" sketch of the robot to be able plan my work.
I had some early plans of doing some numbers on the chest and shoulder but later scrapped that idea when I realised how much more work it would mean.
The numbers 810 is from when my daughter was really small, and when she wanted to say a really large/high number she said: åttatio! when translated to english is 810.

Because I plan on having something inside the robot I started the construction of  a hollow main body: chest and belly with a frame construction. Because I do all of my work in the living room of our house, I don't use any powertools. everything is created with a small saw, a knife, glue and sanding paper.

In the next picture you can see the a starting point of a floor and the first wall with a window that will be inside the robot belly.
I have also started to put up wallpaper on the wall. The wallpaper is constructed from regular printer paper that is painted with acrylic paint and a layer of clear water based lacquer. I cut the wall paper in a standard width but i the 1:6 scale.

More walls and more wallpaper...

On the back of the robot, I'm building a lightbox with 9 white leds.

Checking that the leds work properly.

I did a first test with the lights and the backdrop picture I plan to use.
I also added 3more leds for the inside of the room. I used my daughters Barbie chair as test mock-up.

Soon more to follow...
